The University of Missouri Power Plant Combined Heat & Power Upgrade
Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc. continues to collaborate with Pro Energy performing excellently well fulfilling multiple power plant contracts. Since this initial collaboration, Alpha Energy and ProEnergy have worked together on three (3) power plant projects for Kansas City Power and Light: The Aitan Power Plant. The La Cygne Generating Station #1 and The Hawthorn 5 Power Plant. Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc awarded contract to install electrical systems at the University of Missouri Power Plant Combined Heat & Power Upgrade. Upon completion this project will replace a coal-fired boiler with a biomass-fired boiler on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, USA. This $75 million upgrade is being completed with minimal disruption to the existing power plant, which remains operational during the conversion. The new biomass boiler will be operational fall 2012 and will use more than 100,000 tons annually of biomass fuel and reduce fossil fuel use by 25 percent. Alpha Energy is very proud of our association with ProEnergy and look forward to a long mutually beneficial relationship.
